Clair Lagon, the natural pool in a Mediterranean garden
A body of water you swim in like a pool, with no chlorine and no chemical treatment.

A Clair Lagon natural pool in the Var, built into the garden
We are Clair Lagon's exclusive partner for the department. The water is filtered by a biological system, with no chemicals: it stays clear and alive.
The pool is designed with the garden, not against it. It follows the shape of the land, the terraces and the views, rather than sitting there like a rectangle.
Three differences from a conventional pool
No chemical treatment
No chlorine, no smell, no irritation: filtration is provided by a dedicated plant ecosystem.
Living water
The pool keeps clear, mild water and becomes a landscape feature in its own right, even out of season.
Built into the garden
Copings, planting and surroundings are designed as one with the pool, by the same team.
About natural pools
Does a natural pool need more maintenance than a swimming pool?
Maintenance is different: it focuses on the balance of the plants rather than on dosing products. We provide it as part of our maintenance contracts.
Can you swim in it all year round?
The lagoon can be enjoyed all year round, but swimming follows the seasons. Its fine sand bottom and shallow depth let the water warm up quickly in the sun: in the Var climate, swimming is pleasant from late spring to early autumn. In winter, continuous filtration keeps the water clear and the lagoon remains a true feature of your garden.
What planning formalities are required?
In most cases, a Clair Lagon lagoon does not require planning permission. Depending on its size and your town's local planning rules (PLU), a prior works declaration may however be required at the town hall. We look into this with you from the design phase onwards and help you with the formalities if needed.
Do you work everywhere in the Var?
Yes, our partnership with Clair Lagon covers the whole department.
